Glan, Sarangani Mayor Victor James Yap Sr. appealed for immediate national assistance, saying the magnitude 7.8 Mindanao earthquake has affected more than 109,000 residents, left 21 dead and nine missing in his town alone, and drained the municipality's ₱10-million quick response fund — even as the official regional death toll rose to 47.

Three days after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Sarangani province, the NDRRMC confirmed 45 dead and 17 missing as of June 10 — with over 145,000 people displaced, 3,169 homes damaged, and the government drawing on a ₱13.14-billion Quick Response Fund pool to sustain relief operations.
