Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio, declared a combined net worth of P98.66 million for 2025 — an 11.46% increase — even as the Vice President again reported no cash on hand or in bank and the couple kept ten business entities undivested, two issues that figure directly in the impeachment articles now headed to trial.

# Duterte and Husband Declare P98.6-Million Net Worth for 2025, an 11.4% Jump — Still With No Cash Listed and Ten Businesses Undivested *The Vice President's latest wealth declaration repeats two patterns — no declared cash and undivested business interests — that the House cites in its impeachment case.* Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, lawyer Manases "Mans" Carpio, declared a combined net worth of P98,656,131.20 for 2025, an 11.46% increase over their P88-million declaration the year before, according to their joint Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN). The figure was reported by GMA News, citing research aired on its "24 Oras" newscast on June 15. The disclosure lands as the Senate readies an impeachment trial in which her wealth and business holdings are squarely at issue. The couple's total declared assets reached P122,797,727.20, a 24.72% jump from P98 million in 2024, GMA News reported. Of that, P81.3 million were real properties and P41.48 million personal properties. Two real-property holdings were added in 2025: a condominium with a parking slot in San Juan City and a commercial building in Davao City. The declared value of the couple's motor vehicles rose from P10.5 million to P12.3 million. As in prior years, the Vice President reported no cash on hand and no cash in bank — but declared P16.2 million under an "others" item. Her lawyer Michael Poa said in April that Duterte did not list her cash as "cash on hand" in her SALNs from 2019 to 2024 and instead lumped it under "others." The practice has drawn scrutiny because SALN rules require public officials to disclose cash and bank deposits as distinct entries. The couple's declared liabilities climbed to P24,141,596 in 2025, a 142.63% increase from the roughly P9 million reported in 2024. GMA News noted that in earlier filings only Carpio had declared creditors. The couple also declared 10 business entities — eight belonging to Carpio and two to the Vice President. The Office of the Vice President has not publicly disputed the figures as reported, and Duterte has previously defended the completeness of her disclosures. Pulpulitiko has not independently reviewed the full SALN document. ## Why it matters The undivested businesses and the SALN entries are not incidental: both are named in the Articles of Impeachment. Article 2, as approved by the House, accuses Duterte of amassing wealth allegedly disproportionate to her lawful income; of failing to "fully and truthfully disclose" assets and net worth in her SALNs for 2022, 2023 and 2024; and of failing to divest her business interests while serving as Vice President for 2022 through 2025. A 2025 declaration that again shows no segregated cash and ten still-held business entities keeps those questions live as the trial approaches. Independent reporting has flagged the cash anomaly before. Philippine Star reported in April that Duterte's net worth rose from P55.6 million in 2019 to P88.5 million in 2024 while she reported no cash on hand and no bank deposits across those six years. ## Context The House impeached Duterte for a second time on May 11, and the Senate convened as an impeachment court on May 18, with the trial set to begin July 6. House lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro has said most prosecution witnesses will testify on the alleged misuse of P612.5 million in confidential funds, but the wealth and SALN allegations form a separate pillar of the case. Under the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act 6713), officials must file complete and truthful SALNs annually and divest conflicting business interests. ## Sources - "UP 11.4%: VP Sara Duterte, husband report P98.6-million net worth in 2025," GMA News Online (Vince Angelo Ferreras), June 15, 2026 — https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/topstories/nation/991543/vp-sara-duterte-husband-report-p98-6-million-net-worth-in-2025/story/ - "VP Duterte declares P98.6M net worth in 2025 SALN," The Manila Times, June 15, 2026 — https://www.manilatimes.net/2026/06/15/news/vp-duterte-declares-p986m-net-worth-in-2025-saln/2365409 - "2025 SALN: VP Duterte, husband post P98.6M net worth, an 11% hike," Philippine Daily Inquirer — https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/2246746/2025-saln-vp-duterte-husband-post-p98-6m-net-worth-an-11-hike - "VP Sara net worth hits P88.5 million over 6 years, SALNs show no cash or deposits," Philippine Star, April 22, 2026 — https://www.philstar.com/headlines/2026/04/22/2522791/vp-sara-net-worth-hits-p885-million-over-6-years-salns-show-no-cash-or-deposits - Llanesca T.
